Festus, MO – On July 25, 2025, at approximately 11:45 am, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a post office vehicle was hit by a commercial Freightliner. The crash took place on Route 61 by Bryan Drive.

According to the MSHP, the 2022 Freightliner M2 was driven by a 53-year-old male from Hazelwood, MO and traveling southbound on 61. A 1993 Chevy S10 Postal vehicle, which was being driven by a 52-year-old female from Festus, MO, was stopped with traffic waiting to turn left onto Bryan Drive. The Freightliner failed to be observant enough to see the stopped traffic and crashed right into the postal vehicle. Post-impact, the Freightliner continued to push the postal vehicle off the road. As both vehicles went off the roadway, the postal vehicle became dislodged from the Freightliner, skidded away and flipped over.

The 52-year-old female from Festus was transported by Joachim-Plattin Ambulance to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries. The postal vehicle was totaled and towed away by Wren Towing.
