Festus, MO – A Festus man has been charged with fourth-degree assault after allegedly threatening a woman with a knife during a domestic dispute earlier this year, according to the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office who filed a complaint on August 28, 2025.

Quentin Malachi Christopher, age 21, of Festus faces one count of assault in the fourth degree, a class C misdemeanor under Missouri law. The charge stems from a May 4, 2025, incident at Christopher’s residence in Festus.

According to court documents, the altercation began as a verbal argument between Christopher and the victim. Prosecutors say Christopher stated he would retrieve a knife, then ran into his home, returned with the weapon, and charged at the victim. Fearing for her life, the woman pulled out a handgun she was carrying, prompting Christopher to retreat back into his residence.

The victim was not physically harmed, but prosecutors allege Christopher purposely placed her in apprehension of immediate physical injury, which constitutes assault under Section 565.056 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri.
