Park Hills, MO – On July 17 at approximately 3:30 am there was a dangerous police chase in Park Hills ending with suspect still on the loose. According of the Park Hills Police Department, one of their officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on Route 67 with a black Dodge Charger that was stolen out of Illinois. The Charger has Missouri plates coming back to a Toyota. When the Park Hills officer attempted to stop it, the Charger accelerated northbound on 67 reaching speeds of approximately 120 mph. Once the Charger entered the Park Hill city limits, the driver turned off all the lights and kept driving.
The police chase continued off Route 67 onto Parkway Dr. where another Park Hills Police officer was waiting to deploy a tire-deflation device called sticks. The driver of the Charger attempted to run over the police officer, but the officer was able to successfully deploy the sticks and hit one of the tires.
The driver of the Charger continued to drive until he reached 1st St. where he abandoned the Charger and fled on foot. Law enforcement where not able to apprehend the man and he is still on the run.
