Jefferson County, MO – A Festus woman has been charged with felony driving while intoxicated and driving with a revoked license following a February 2021 incident on Highway A, according to court records filed on Sept. 10, 2025.
Teresa Elaine Christensen, age 50, of Festus was charged in Division IV of the Jefferson County Circuit Court with one count of driving while intoxicated as a chronic offender and one count of driving while her license was revoked.
Prosecutors allege that Christensen was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol on Feb. 9, 2021. She is classified as a chronic offender under Missouri law due to four prior DWI convictions dating back to 2003 in both Franklin and Jefferson counties.
The DWI charge is a class C felony, and if convicted, Christensen must serve a minimum of two years in prison before being eligible for probation or parole.
In a separate count, Christensen is also charged with a class E felony for driving while her license was revoked. Prosecutors allege she acted with criminal negligence in operating a vehicle despite prior convictions that had resulted in license revocation.
