FESTUS, Mo. (Oct. 11, 2025) — A Festus woman has been charged with felony drug possession and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia following a February 2025 incident, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Virginia Lynn Eaton, age 38, of Festus faces two counts stemming from her alleged possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on or about Feb. 24, 2025.
In Count I, Eaton is charged with possession of a controlled substance—specifically methamphetamine—a class D felony under Missouri law. The charge alleges that Eaton knowingly possessed the substance and qualifies as a prior and persistent drug offender, having been previously convicted of two felony drug offenses. Those convictions occurred on July 22, 2019, and Sept. 16, 2024, both in the 23rd Judicial Circuit of Missouri.
Because of her prior convictions, Eaton is subject to enhanced sentencing under Missouri statute, facing a potential penalty equivalent to that of a class B felony.
Count II charges Eaton with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor. Prosecutors allege that she possessed a glass pipe with intent to use it to ingest a controlled substance. This charge also notes her prior drug conviction in September 2024.
The above charges are mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
