Festus, MO – On August 4, 2025, Nathaniel Jacob Grass, age 26, of Festus, was charged with a Class E felony for domestic assault after allegedly threatening his domestic partner with physical harm. The incident occurred on or about May 18, 2025, in Pevely, Missouri.
According to the charges, Grass intentionally placed the victim, identified as Victim 1, in fear of immediate physical injury by threatening to “bash her head in” and “slit her throat.” Victim 1, who had a continuing intimate or romantic relationship with Grass, was reportedly traumatized by the threats.
The offense falls under Section 565.076 of Missouri Revised Statutes, which classifies domestic assault in the fourth degree as a felony. If convicted, Grass faces punishment as outlined in Sections 558.011 and 558.002 of Missouri law, which deal with sentencing guidelines for criminal convictions.
This is not the first time Grass has been involved in domestic violence incidents. On August 23, 2022, Grass was found guilty of domestic assault in the fourth degree for two separate offenses. The first occurred on May 15, 2022, and the second on January 29, 2022. Both incidents took place in Jefferson County, where Grass was convicted for similar violent behavior towards a domestic partner.
The defendant’s repeated offenses have raised concerns about his history of violence, leading authorities to take further legal action to ensure the safety of the victim and the community. Grass is currently awaiting trial for the latest charges. If convicted, he faces substantial legal penalties under Missouri law.
