Festus, MO – A two-vehicle collision Friday afternoon on northbound U.S. Highway 67 at Montauk Drive left one driver seriously injured, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. when a 2016 Ram 1500, traveling westbound on Montauk Drive, failed to yield at a stop sign and entered the path of a northbound 2010 Toyota Corolla. The front of the Toyota struck the right side of the Ram.

The driver of the Toyota, a 34-year-old woman from Dexter, was seriously injured and transported by the Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital South. Authorities reported she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Ram, a 49-year-old man from Granite City, Illinois, was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene by Pippin’s Towing.
