CRYSTAL CITY, Mo. (Oct. 11, 2025) — A Bonne Terre woman has been charged with assault following an alleged physical altercation at Mercy Hospital Jefferson earlier this year, according to the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office who filed the criminal complaint on Oct. 10, 2025.

Vicki A. Marler, age 71, of Bonne Terre is accused of fourth-degree assault, a class A misdemeanor under Missouri law. The incident reportedly occurred on April 1, 2025, at Mercy Hosptial Jefferson, located at 1400 U.S. Highway 61 in Crystal City.

According to the probable cause statement filed by Crystal City Police, Marler allegedly struck a woman in the face with a closed fist, leaving a visible red mark on the victim’s left cheek.

The above charges are mere accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
