Festus, MO – Two people were injured Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on eastbound Route A west of Route Z in Festus, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on August 29, 2025, at approximately 2:10 p.m. when a 2017 RAM 1500 driven by a 28-year-old Hillsboro man struck the rear of a 2013 Lexus ES350 that was stopped at a red light. The MSHP reported that the RAM’s driver was distracted and failed to keep a proper lookout before the collision.

The driver of the Lexus, a 78-year-old woman from De Soto, sustained minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital South by the Joachim Ambulance District. A 78-year-old male passenger, also from De Soto, was also transported with minor injuries.

Both vehicles sustained damage but were driven from the scene. No insurance was reported for either vehicle. All occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
