On June 30, 2025 at approximately 4:45 pm, Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) arrested Justin Yount, age 41, of Valley Park, MO for the charges of Aggravated Fleeing from Stop, Driving While Suspended, and 1st Degree Tampering with Motor Vehicle. According to the MSHP, a Trooper was sitting on Route 67 when a grey Nissan Sentra passed by. The Trooper checked the registration, and the vehicle came back stolen out of St. Louis County. The Trooper attempted to pull over the Nissan but it accelerated, did a U-turn at St. Francois State Park and sped away heading northbound reaching speeds in excess of 120 miles per hour. Another MSHP Trooper deployed stop sticks near Buck Creek Road and struck the front right tire. The Nissan then traveled off the road and struck a sign. MSHP identified Yount as the driver and confirmed he also had an outstanding warrant from Probation and Parole. Yount was transported and held at the St. Francois County Jail.
