HERCULANEUM, Mo. (Oct. 1, 2025) — A Crystal City man is facing felony charges following a road rage incident and physical altercation that left one victim injured and caused more than $750 in property damage, authorities said.

Stanley Edward Fields, age 44, of Crystal City, has been charged with third-degree assault, a class E felony, in connection with the incident that occurred Monday within the city limits of Herculaneum, according to a complaint filed by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on Sept. 30, 2025.

According to the complaint, the confrontation began as a road rage incident in which Fields allegedly damaged the victim’s vehicle. The situation escalated into a physical altercation during which Fields is accused of striking the victim, causing injury to the victim’s right eye and damaging their prescription glasses.

The combined cost of the damage to the glasses and the vehicle exceeds $750, officials said.

Fields has been charged under Missouri Revised Statutes Section 565.054. A request for a summons has been filed with the court.
