Missouri – A new Missouri bill went into effect Thursday that repeals annual minimum wage increases and eliminates paid sick time requirements for some private workers.
The law, House Bill 567, was signed by the Governor July 11 and took effect Thursday August 28, 2025.
Under current law, Missouri’s minimum wage is set at $13.75 per hour for 2025 and scheduled to rise to $15.00 per hour on Jan. 1, 2026, with annual cost-of-living adjustments tied to the Consumer Price Index in later years. The new law removes those yearly increases.
The measure also makes the state’s minimum wage rate applicable to public employers. In addition, the law repeals provisions requiring certain private employers to provide paid sick time to workers.
