Festus, MO – Two people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on northbound U.S. Highway 67, just south of Route CC in Festus, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred on August 13, 2025, at approximately 12:13 p.m., when a 2005 Nissan Altima traveling in the right lane began to slide on the wet roadway as traffic slowed. The driver, a 26-year-old woman from Ellsinore, MO, attempted to steer right to avoid hitting the vehicle ahead but struck the rear of a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica.
The Altima’s driver and a 47-year-old male passenger, also from Ellsinore, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital Jefferson by the Joachim-Plattin Ambulance District. Neither was wearing a safety device, according to the patrol report.
The driver of the Pacifica, a 77-year-old woman from Lesterville, was reportedly uninjured. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene by Pippin’s Towing.
