Beverly Ann Herbert, age 91, of Festus, Missouri, died Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at her home. Mrs. Herbert was born July 23, 1934, in Onawa, Iowa and attended Central Methodist College in Fayette, Missouri. It was there that she met her husband, Rolla “Duke” Herbert. They were married for 57 years before Duke’s death in 2012. Beverly was a long-time kindergarten teacher in Herculaneum, DeSoto and Festus school districts where she displayed her considerable patience and kindness. She loved to travel, was an avid Bridge and Mahjong player and spent countless hours in gymnasiums supporting her husband, kids, grandkids and great grand kids in their sporting events. She was a life long member of the Methodist church and passed her values to her children to treat everyone the same, with kindness and compassion. She was the daughter of the late Gunnar and Helen (nee Clemmensen) Olson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Rolla, and a brother, Barry Olson.

She is survived by three daughters Toni Clippard of Herculaneum, Nancy (Mickey) Neal of Festus, Kathy (Chris Schell) Russell of Herculaneum and a son C.J. (Daneen) Herbert of Wildwood, Missouri; eight grandchildren J.B. (Anna) Neal, Brianne (Nic) Leitterman, Wade (Max) Backy, Olivia (JT) Lovelace, Dane (Maddie) Russell, Sam Clippard, Gunnar Herbert and Annika Herbert; nine great-grandchildren Kylie, Nora and Carson Leitterman, Brooks and Molly Neal, Kaden and Bradley Clippard, Luka and Ava Lovelace; sister-in-laws Sharon Olson and Patty Herbert, three nephews Brad (Tracy) Herbert, Bret (Vicki) Herbert, Scott (Gina Slovacek) Olson and a niece Angie Jerome.

Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 from 11:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, 113 Grand Ave., Festus, Missouri. There will be a lunch provided by the church following the service. Arrangements are handled by Vinyard Funeral Home.
